Welcome to Riverton Chiropractic
New Patients First Visit
On arrival at Riverton Chiropractic you will feel like you've walked through the door of a home. Warmly welcomed by the friendly and obliging staff of the health centre. They will assist with any help you need with the fairly minimal paper work that is required.
Once the paperwork is completed, you will be introduced to the Chiropractor who will give you the opportunity to explain what ever it is that has brought you to the clinic, and then they will ask you any number of questions.
Riverton Chiropractic is always careful to accept patients who are well suited to the chiropractic that we offer. If you condition is not one that can be helped by chiropractic treatment, we will tell you and/or refer you appropriately.
On your first visit your spine will be examined more thoroughly than it has ever been examined before. Our goal here is to find and detail any misaligned vertebra, focusing on misalignment. During your examination we will establish your baseline measurements, which will allow improvement over the coming weeks.
Before the first visit is over we will be able to tell you if your condition will be helped by chiropractic and if we need to have further examinations, such as x-rays before we proceed.
The chiropractor offers choices regarding the style of chiropractic treatment offered at Riverton Chiropractic.
"Adjustments” are usually the central part of chiropractic treatment, with the goal of restoring structural alignment and motion in order to improve joint function. If you don't like manual adjustments, you may instead receive mild or non-force techniques. Please let the chiropractor know what your choice is!
These adjustments can also be accompanied by soft tissue treatment, stretches, taping, dry needling and activity modifications. You will also be given specific home stretches and exercises to help improve your condition further and maintain your improvements.
When being treated for a complaint such as back pain, neck pain or shoulder pain, you will most likely receive a series of adjustments over a few days, to incrementally reduce the irritation and improve normal function. As your condition improves, how often we see you will decrease in frequency.
